Tessares

Tessares

Description
Tessares is the Greek word for the number four. In the Middle Ages it was considered a pivotal and decisive number: four are the cardinal points, the principal winds, the season, the lunar phases, and the sides of the quare to which the earth was compared.
Moreover, four is the number of moral perfection and of the proprotions of the human body. This composition is based on this philosophical concept and develeops around a rythmic thematic idea that alternates with broad melodic phrases.
